People you can count on
Adam Carter
President
adamgc@brazilnuts.com
Prior to his career in travel, Adam G. Carter studied abroad in Europe and Latin America, and received his MBA in International Marketing from NYU. Afterwards he spent several years in the advertising industry, honing his skills in product development and promotion. Looking to combine his love of travel and marketing, he left advertising and in 1984 opened Brazil Nuts Tours, a company dedicated to creating innovative special interest tours. Under his direction, Brazil Nuts Tours became recognized as a leader in such key travel segments as Ecotourism, cultural tours and corporate meetings and incentives.
Marie Morales
Air Department agent
Marie@brazilnuts.com
I was born in Lima, Peru. I studied Business Administration at the Catholic University. I also studied Logistics as well as many courses related to tourism. My native language is Spanish, but I speak English fluently and I also speak basic French. I began working in tourism in one of the greatest travel agencies in Peru, developing several functions and taking special interest in Incoming Tourism. After 10 years there, the opportunity to access to the hotel sector was given to me. During this stage of my life, I managed some important hotels in Peru but returned, after 8 years, to Incoming Tourism. During this time I had the opportunity to travel and learn a lot about most of the Latin American countries, as well as Spain and Italy, while participating in their famous Tourism Markets. My great passion for tourism has helped me in the tourism industry and given me tremendous opportunities to travel and submerge myself in other cultures. Since 2001 I have been living in Central Florida and working as a free lance Travel Agent. A year ago I joined the Brazil Nuts family and with my experience and knowledge of several markets, I will give you the best of these countries and the best of me. I’m here to make your trip a truly unforgettable experience.
Ana De Augustinis
Operations Manager for groups
ana@brazilnuts.com
I have been in the travel industry for 17 years, working in leisure travel, receptive tour operations and previously served 7 years in Corporate Travel at American Express. After moving to Naples I was honored to join Brazil Nuts and I have been an associate with the agency for 4 years now. My primary responsibility is handling group travel, especially large institutional programs for universities and corporations. I'm a Paulistana from Sao Paulo, but really prefer the outdoors over the big city. In my job I am lucky enough to travel all over Brazil (how about escorting a group of 120 students on a 3 day Amazon riverboat expedition!). But my favorite destination in Brazil? The Chapada Diamantina in the state of Bahia (Lencois)! It is a great eco-destination and completely unlike anything else in Brazil. Ouro Preto and Tiradentes, in the state of Minas Gerais, is another favorite of mine.
Dorothy Bennett
Sales Manager for FIT
dot@brazilnuts.com
I was born in the UK, moved to the US at a young age and started at Brazil Nuts ten years ago when the company was still located in Connecticut. I am the mother of two grown daughters and have traveled extensively with them and alone in South America. Some of my great trips include Argentina, Chile and the Lake Crossing, as well as Ecuador and a memorable Galapagos cruise. Of course I've been to Brazil numerous times, covering most of it including the Northeast. Favorite places for me? Hard to choose one, but I do love Salvador da Bahia!
Holli Franchi
Account Executive
holli@brazilnuts.com
Being born and raised in the mid-west I moved to Florida in 1999 needing some cultural diversity. After meeting my husband, who is from Argentina, I realized how much of the world I was missing, and became fascinated with the idea of experiencing other cultures. Brazil Nuts has given me just that opportunity. I have recently returned from an eye-opening inspection trip to Rio de Janeiro, Parati, Salvador da Bahia and Praia do Forte. I am looking forward to sharing my impressions and experiences with prospective travelers and helping to make it a "once in a lifetime" experience for all.
John Dalia
FIT Sales
john@brazilnuts.com
Born in Recife (The Brazilian Venice) and living in Rio de Janeiro for many years now, John has a background in Business Administration and has been in the industry for several years. As a Brazil aficionado he has traveled around a lot, always going to places where natives go, learning and enjoying the music, culture and scenery, being Rio de Janeiro his favorite city, by far.
Julia Pierabella
FIT Sales Agent

In February 2007, I decided that there was no better way to celebrate Carnaval in Rio than to parade in the famous Sambadrome. After picking up our fantastic costumes, my friend Bronson and I were taken directly to the heart of the Sambadrome to prepare for our march. There, along with our guide, we anxiously awaited to enter the mile-long stretch of the Sambadrome with our “samba school”, Unidos da Tijuca, where we knew we’d be met by tens of thousands of cheering spectators. After learning some of the lyrics to our school’s anthem, they announced that it was our group’s turn to begin marching. As we entered the beginning of the parade, dancing samba and singing the lyrics, I realized that I had never experienced anything in my life so heart-stopping and exhilarating. I spent the next 20 minutes dancing away and listening to the cheers of the fans in what was one of my most favorite travel memories of all time!
